Venus falls in Virgo
Updated: 56 minutes ago
Venus & Mars in Virgo; an experienced life. An astrological angle into a personal life lived.
It hit me as I was watching a clip from “Shall we Dance” with Susan Sarandon:
“But in a marriage, you’re promising to care about everything. The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things… all of it, all of the time, every day. You’re saying ‘Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness’.”
The dedication. The heart, the core of marriage, is to witness and to be witnessed in all aspects of life.
Venus in the Sign of Virgo has one single, ultimate focus that of devotion. Virgo is the sign of devotion and the planet Venus is placed there the lessons are that of devotion, of commitment...
Astrologers know Venus falls in Virgo. My own teacher’s comment when he saw my Venus in my Natal Chart was: “Venus falls in Virgo” and then a "Njaah..." leaving somewhat of a puzzle. I’ve read many books now about Venus and Virgo from a classical perspective, esoteric perspective. I wrote a dissertation about Virgo & Pisces… My mother was a Virgo which can also explain my puzzlement about the sign of Virgo. Venus falls in Virgo… I had to use my own deductive mind to unravel this vague notion.
Virgo is the maiden, the mother, the crone. She signifies all three archetypes. She also represents Mother Mary, the human girl, the maiden that becomes pregnant without penetration or sexual intercourse. She goes from being untethered, unfiltered to filtrated by God with the Son of God, the most divine child of purity in her womb. She is a human girl who now embodies a sacred child. Her cells become his cells. Her blood becomes his blood. Her milk becomes his food. There are two notions of importance here:
The transformation from Maiden to Mother
The human form/being that carries the divine. The mix & merge between humanity & God/the divine/the sacred/the universe.
We can deduct that there is a yearning in Virgo Venus to be penetrated by God, the Sacred and enter into a divine union with the heavenly father also known as Shiva, Allah or Source.
My mother was a Virgo and her mother’s parents were devoted Christians. Her father a church secretary and singer. Church every Sunday without fault. The household was strict, puritan, clean. My mother’s parents were kind to the outer environment but firm and harsh behind closed doors. My mother was an exemplary child, doing everything by the book. It was a household not without abuse. Which lead my mother into depression, hysteria, shame, guilt and violence later in life. She eventually became an alcoholic but before that swallowed pills daily. She was on antidepressant for 30 years which of course affects brain development/health/hormone balance. My mother died of Atypical Parkisonism, 3 excruciating years where her brain literally crumbled. She crumbled.
Mum claimed not to be Christian or to believe in God. Her devotion went to the family, her husbond, her profession and she was a devoted fan of the Royal Family. Funny enough, she believed in Astrology, in something higher and external, a destiny, and she would read our weekly horoscopes out loud.
Mum’s Saturn in Virgo was conjunct my Venus in Virgo. Mum’s Moon was in Scorpio trine to Uranus in Cancer. Her Mars in Cancer on my father’s Sun. Her Uranus in Cancer on my brother’s birthday. She had Pluto in Leo (Im a Leo) and thought me an alien. “I don’t understand why you are here or where you come from.” “You don’t belong here.” She would say. “I don’t want you. I’m going to call child service so they can come and pick you up.” Her speech to me on my confirmation: “I didn’t want you but it turned out alright anyway.” I didn’t think about it at all as it was her common language.
To the exterior she was beautiful, smart, always wearing the newest fashion, kind, generous. She was well liked by most. She kept up a perfect appearance. Her Venus was in Libra; she loved fashion, art, beauty, music, and having an estetical home. She loved to plan parties and was the dedicated Wedding dress shopping assistant to most of my cousins. She loved photography and to catch beautiful moments and smiles. These traits belong both the Virgo Sun and the Libra Venus.

Keeping up apperances, the polished surface, the outward face is a side of Virgo. When Venus is placed in Virgo there can be an unconscious driving force within this person to keep up a polished look. Perfectionism is another keyword, with perfectionism comes criticism. Virgos are know for their inner critic and to be the most critical of all the signs. When Venus is in Virgo the critism can be addressed to apperances, one's own look, the body, the form of things, art, creative expressions, estetics, love, love relationships, one's partner. But first of all Venus in Virgo expects herself/himself to be a perfect partner and live up to an image of being a perfect partner. There is also a search for the perfect partner where everything aligns: Mentally, emotionally, physically and spirituallly. With the idea of one should be perfect for one's chosen partner follows the value of dedication. This can explain the borderless tendency in love relationships where healthy boundaries are not upheld due to the idea of dedication, devotion no matter what and the failure of a relationship is a failure of oneself, not the other. The Maiden, the Mother blames herself for not being perfect, right, enough, beautiful enough, caring, empathetic, understanding, flexible, strong enough to keep the sturcture of a marriage, to keep the marriage functioning. The index finger is pointed within, not outward, even though depending on aspect and the placement of other planets can manifest as such as well.
Venus
The planet of human love, the love that manifests on Mother Earth. Venus represents all earthly love, the love we have to animals, nature and the love between animals. Venus represent our love languages:
Physical; touch, level and type of sensuality, sex, lust, level of physical desire, physical intimacy, the need for physical affection, whether one loves to cuddle or not.
Voiced; verbally or written, declarations of love spoken or written. Affirmations. Conversations of depth, vulnerability. Talks about love, values and one's inner world.
Time, quality time, such as roadtrips, walks, playing games, watching sunsets, travelling. Presence.
Service; making dinner, baking, vacuumcleaning, changing tires, picking up at the airport, fetching something of importance even though it takes two hours to drive. Build a garage.
Gifts; flowers, organic, nuitricious food, carefully planned Christmas presents, Spa, Yoga Retreat, membership at the local gym, chocolate, new car or couch, sexy lingerie.
Venus represents beauty, what one sees as beauty, art, creative expressions, abundance, money, materialism, sensuality, one's level of sensuality, desire, lust or lack thereoff, sexuality, one's ability to dissolve into energy. Venus represents attraction and what one views as attractive.
When Venus is home in Taurus the love language is different from Venus in Aquarius.
Venus in Taurus would be love language 1, 3, 4 (5). Venus in Aquarius would be 2 and 3, unless other planets play a vital role. Mars, Moon, Mercury and Neptune also play a role in love languages.
Venus in Virgo would have in the textbook 1, 3, 4, 5.
One's love language also differ when it comes to friends, children, parents than one's romantic and sexual partner.
The Third Eye Chakra is the eye of Venus. Whatever blurs, clouds, blocks or obscures the Third Eye, Ajna Chakra, must evaporate, it is the entire purpose of Venus to clear one's sight. Venus is the Third Eye. When the Third Eye is open, clean and clear true beauty appears and one is kissed by Grace.
Venus in Virgo has a long journey of clearing their sight in areas such as devotion, idealism, human love and psychological, mental health. From being blind one must learn to see. A Venus Virgo must see through the illusion of perfectionism, clean out all the negative self critism that obscures the sense of Self, open up one's eyes to see the divine infiltrated in the human world, realize that one is still divine and embedded with the sacred even in form/Body. The Crone is born when full acceptance is achieved. Venus Virgo must see her/his own divinity and come to the realization that it was never lost.
Saturn's affect on Venus
Saturn is the teacher, he can be felt as strict, harsh, conservative. He is the indexfinger. Saturn can deliver the tempareture of coldness, chills, cold attitude, the cold shoulder. Saturn if the educator, the one in charge, the one responsible authority. He creates sturctures, systems, rules. Saturn is also know as the Lord of Karma, Time; linear and non-linear, the giver of Boons and Blessings. He creates friction until you have learnt your lessons. He puts up obsticles so you may find a positive, sound solution.
My mother's Saturn was conjunct my Venus. She created constriction, rules, structures. My mother was my index finger and a central authority figure in my life. Since her Saturn was placed on my Venus my love languages were constricted, corrected or even shouted at. I told her once "I love you" she told me not to say that again. I didn't say those words to her until her deathbed but I wrote the sentence in letters.
Having Venus in Virgo there is already a friction in being born into the material world, there are already challenges in knowing human love. Sex can be seen as dangerous, confusing or one can misunderstand sex as sacred love making to anyone and everyone. But when your mother has her Saturn on your Venus you already have the feeling of being in the wrong, not perfect, not good enough, with constant corrections. Fear was installed in me from very young. "Don't ever get fat no man will want you". "You must look pretty so men find you attractive". "They all stare at you" she would say with pride and envy in her voice. "Make sure you comb your hair before entering the classroom, you must look clean and nice."
My mother was not an emotionally mature woman, nor intelligent, she was very much an unconscious being ruled by emotions, dogma, cultural norms, conservative outlook, her own upbringing and her own planetary placements.
I was a petty little thing as a child. I modelled as a kid at local fashion shows to my mother's enourmous pride. I did gymnastics from age 3-19 and had a perfect posture, perfect rhytm, I was a splendid dancer and always polite, a pretty little princess as mum raised me to be.
I experienced Saturn on my Venus as coldness, my mother would not speak to me for days if I was imperfect (spilled milk or begged her for a new Barbie too many times). I experienced verbal and physical violence, threats of being send away, hysteria and being blamed for her unhappiness, her migraine, her depression, her illnesses. There was an obvious lack of empathy and warmth, I was left in my room sobbing on a weekly basis "What did I do wrong?" with no comfort. Her Saturn came out as "You have to learn". It was my mother's way of implementing structure and teach me a lesson.
Venus in Virgo is already on it's own struggling with earthly life, being caught in a human form boy or girl, trying to navigate in the material world in stead of being a pure Soul or a divine being, God, Goddess, Angel. It is on it's own a challenge to have Venus in Virgo as fleshy experiences, love, lust, sexual intercourse, beauty seen from human eyes, art, nature has to being experienced with human eyes and not the yes of God/Goddess/Shiva/Shakti. When a planet such as Saturn comes into play with Venus there will be most uncomfortable lessons that have to be learnt. Saturn can be a pedagogical teacher or he can be a tyrant that shapes a person into a system full of indoctrinations, conditions and twisted ideas such as "Stay perfect or nobody will love you".
Having Mars the planet of action, masculinity, masculine energy, assertion, courage, the fighter, the warrior, sexuality, reproduction, attraction of opposites, protection, holding space, the divine masculine in Virgo as well as Venus I was devoted to my mother and uncousciously wanted to protect her, help her, fix her. When Mars is in Virgo or Pisces one can be become the Sacred Warrior, the spiritual warrior, it can manifest itself as the crusader or religious bomber, self sacrificing. It can also manifest itself as a protector of the divine feminine, the maiden, the sister, the mother, the crone. I became both the protector, the fixer, the nurturer as well as consistantly trying to get her to love and accept me for who I am/was, teach her unconditional love and see beauty in the world. I remember I often told her "Look up mum see the sky, see the beautiful light coming through the trees." Her reply "You've always been a strange child" but she would smile.
I was the devoted daughter. “You live in Norway yet I see you more than your brother.” “You come to stay, you stay for weeks” I could feel her appreciation & gratitude even though she never verbally expressed it.
I was my mother's witness through thick and thin.
Devotion
The sign of Virgo.
The Sixth Ray in Esoteric Astrology is that of Virgo; Devotion & Idealism. The devotion to something higher than yourself. The planet Mars constitutes of Ray 6. Ponder on that.
Devotion comes in different packages.
It can that of a partner, a marriage.
Marriage
Parents.
Friends
Lifestyle
Animals
Nature
Children.
God/Allah
A religion.
Spirituality
To be devoted is to be committed. This can happen on a conscious and unconscious level. It is like signing an invisible contract. One can be commited to something from different layers of the BodyMind, perhaps its from a cultural learnt norm of being dedicated to Royal Family or Catholism a mindbased indoctrination that has nothing to do with rationality. Perhaps your are dedicated from your heart to your partner, from pure love. It can be a chosen rational commitment to a diet and a training program. It can be your cells that are commited to Ocean Bath every morning. The more conscious we are about our devotion and dedication the healthier we are in our choices and we can navigate with flexibility and from our hearts in stead of norms that are based on cultural and religious indoctrinations that perhaps goes against our very nature and our rational mind. Dedication from love in stead of fear or guilt have a profound different platform that ensures our level of health and wellbeing. A platform that stems from love creates functionate relationships where values such as honor come into their right use. A value undermined, misused or entirely forgotten.
Blind devotion is rarely healthy. One should always ask oneself “Why?” And to what extent? From where in me am I devoted? Devotion when healthy boundaries are not upheld is directly dangerous. Devotion when the heart is forgotten, compassion out of the window and one’s consciousness overlooked/ignored is utterly dangerous and paves the road to hell even though it’s in the name of God or your husband. We’ve all seen the numerous killings throughout history in the name of Christianity. Mars, the warrior, the soldier, the crusader devoted to Christianity slaughtered innocents, raped women on their way to salvation. The irony…
Blind devotion is rarely healthy, if ever.
The wife protecting her husband even though he hits her or he’s abusing the children.
Blind devotion is ignorance (It's blind thereby one is ignorant of it). It can create cowardly behavior, even cruel behavior. It can become and maintain toxic relationships. Blind commitment can lead to toleranse of what should not be tolerated. Venus Virgo is pushed to create awareness and bring the unconscious into light. Often the process of becoming awake is painful and uncomfortable. Venus Virgo must become aware of where one is caught in blind devotion, where one goes beyond healthy boundaries. We can be blind in love and in fear, out of love and fear, out of conditioning and indoctrinations.
I remember one of mum’s favorite songs was “Stand by your man” by Tammy Wynette. She stood by her man. She did. I’ll give her credit for that. My mum was utterly devoted to dad. He was utterly devoted to her. She loved him dearly. I know mum felt love because of how she was with my dad, my brother and my daughter. My dad was so devoted to my mother that he would smack me up when she asked him to. He was so devoted to her that he left the room when she came at me. He hurried out (perhaps it was a way to protect me so she wouldn’t tell him to hit me).
The two of them stood by each other.
He stood by her while she became a horrendous person in her alcoholism. Until his heart couldn’t take it anymore. He died after dinner, 60 years old “thank you for the food.” And he was gone.
Venus falls in Virgo.
The Lady of God falls. She enters the roam of materialism (perhaps why I’m not materialistic). The innocence is poisoned. She falls into the arms of boys, men, lust, desire… she examines the world of materialism in detail to figure out what it is (Virgo is detail).
With Venus in Virgo one can experience the lowest and densest frequency of what it means to be human. Virgo embodies the divine. Ergo she knows the frequency of the divine, she’s supposed to know the lightest & highest frequencies. Her mission is to evolve into divinity itself and become a light of hope, a beacon of Soul Light, a bridge, the rainbow bridge, Antahkarana, connecting the physical realm with the spiritual. Venus in Virgo has one of the most beautiful tasks I’ve ever come to encounter. That of alchemy. She is to transform the densest, darkest frequency into light, divine light. And know she is both, know she is so powerful that she can transmute energy. She is to hold both frequencies with compassion and love as the Mother, as the grandmother, the Crone.
When the darkness is too dark for a Virgo, she cannot transmute the energy, that’s when hysteria, depression and fear take over.
I’ll be your witness. Virgo Venus & Marriage.
I come back to Susan Sarandon’s quote in the movie (mum loved her).
Mum and dad witnessed eachother.
With a Virgo Venus you desire to witness a chosen partner, all the mundane things and care, show care...
I think I’ve had a longing my whole life to marry. Yeah. It might be influenced by Disney but not really. I think the answer lies in the placement of the major planetary characters namely Venus (Sacred Feminine) & Mars (Mars is embedded with the energy of Devotion & Idealism, Divine Masculine) which happen to be both in Virgo in my House 7, the House of 7 is the House of marriage, serious partnerships, love, SOULMATES. I think forces beyond my control and knowledge have been driving forces my entire life.

I had a Soul Friend as a kid, visible to me, but noone else. He was Native American. We would play, have fun, laugh, smell the earth together, lie on our backs and look at the sky. He was my best friend together with my dog. He would wait for me at birthday parties because he knew I would be sad and lonely. He was autonomous. Independent. He came and went as he pleased. But we liked each other’s company so we hung out quite a lot. I don’t know his name but I know his eyes and his hair, his face.
I thought I would marry him someday. I guess I spent my entire life looking for him. I know he can have manifested in a different form and his appereance different from when we were kids but I'll know his energy and Soul.
For me it was not devotion it was connection of the purest sort, a love bond.
My life did not go unnoticed because he noticed it.
My Virgo Venus affects me in such a way that I want to witness someone. I want to pour all my love and attention on a man, on my Soulmate. I want to devote myself to my special someone. I want to witness his bad days, his days of frustration & irritation. I want to witness his success, his joy, his love, see his eyes shine. I want to pour massive amounts of energy into a love relationship and marry with my whole heart and soul. I want to merge in sacred love. I want the divine Union.
A life has been lived and with that a profound knowledge of love and devotion. The unconscious forces in me has been brought into light and from here I can choose with clear eyes.
No more blind devotion. No more tolerate the intolerable.
I am a Leo woman, my Fire is sacred. My heart is sacred.
Venus is rising. From a fallen angel to a bright, glorious Goddess.
This is the true course of Venus Virgo. She is to rise. This is stepping on the Fixed Cross. The cross of the Soul.
To honor my mum I'll share the lyrics from Stand By your Man.
Mum I miss you and I forgave you many, many years ago. I'm just telling my story. I hope you are at peace now and dancing with dad in the heavenly roams. Do a little jiggle for me.
Stand by your Man written by Tammy Wynette:
"Givin' all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times, and he'll have good times
Doin' things that you don't understand
But if you love him, you'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him, oh be proud of him
'Cause after all, he's just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And somethin' warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep givin' all the love you can
Stand by your man
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep givin' all the love you can
Stand by your man"
